About the conference
Theme
The RAREMET-2024 is the main platform for consolidating scientific potential in the field of rare metals and discussing a wide range of scientific and technological tasks from the processing of mineral raw materials containing rare, refractory, rare- earth and scattered metals to the development of new materials based on these components, (compounds and alloys, high-purity substances, semiconductor, optical, and luminescent materials, nanomaterials, modern energy materials, etc.)
The RAREMET-2024 conference will
include the following scientific areas
Technologies for processing natural and industrial mineral raw materials based on rare metals
Technologies for the production of rare, refractory and rare-earth metals, alloys and dispersion based on these components, as well as magnetic alloys
Technologies of light rare metals (Li, Be, Rb, Cs)
Technologies of scattered elements (In, Ga, Sb, Ge, Re)
High purity materials based on rare metals. Semiconductor and optical materials, radiation and IR photonic materials
Chemical analysis, testing and certification of minerals and materials containing rare metals

Greeting
Andrey I. Goliney
Director of the Chemical Technology Cluster of the Scientific Division of the Rosatom State Corporation
General Director of the Giredmet Institute
The Giredmet JSC (as a part of the scientific division of the Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation) is holding a RAREMET for the third time. We have revived the tradition of a series of regular scientific seminars "Sazhin Readings", organized by Giredmet JSC in honor of academician Nikolai Sazhin since 1970 We expect more than 300 participants from 12 countries. This year, foreign scientists and experts from all over the world showed significant interest to the conference. This fact confirms the failureof the collective West's authorities to isolate Russia. The geopolitical situation forces countries to diversify the supply of rare-earth metals. Demand for them is growing. These are serious preconditions for restarting the industry as a whole. It is necessary to strengthen the cooperation of all relevant participants in the chain — resources, production, research and development, as well as deepening the domestic market in a way that would allow the country competently use the sanction policy. The Giredmet JSC is already showing growth, and it will continue to grow.
Konstantin V. Ivanovskikh
Deputy Director for Science and Innovation, Giredmet JSC
For us, each RAREMET conference is a meeting of friends and likeminded people, who nowadays create a new uncontested basis for the development of high-tech industries, where rare metals provide new unique properties of materials and, therefore, new areas for their application. We are lucky to witness and be part of a true booming point in research and development in this area. The upcoming conference will allow us to get insight into the current scientific research activities in a concentrated manner, highlight the main trends in the global markets of rare metals and critical technologies, as well as to outline the horizons of the forthcoming achievements which will shape the technological landscape of the future.

We are pleased to have the opportunity to participate in the RAREMET-2024. For us, this is one of the key platforms for consolidating scientific potential in the field of rare metals and discussing a wide range of scientific and technological tasks: from processing mineral raw materials containing rare, refractory, rare earth and dispersed metals to the development of new materials based on them.

Due to the unique existence of a unique industrial base of ChMZ JSC, as well as the experience of implementing such projects and successfully mastering new modern technologies, Rusatom Metal Tech LLC is a reliable supplier of products made of refractory and rare metals for the aerospace, petroleum and chemical, nuclear industry and mechanical engineering.

This year, Rusatom Metal Tech LLC will present products made of refractory and rare metals: tantalum, hafnium, niobium and zirconium at the conference as part of the exhibition exposition.

Organizer
The Giredmet Institute (part of the Chemical Technology Cluster of the Scientific Division of the Rosatom State Corporation) is the organizer of the international scientific conference "RAREMET" on the problems of the development of the rare metal industry for the third time.

RAREMET continues the tradition of the cycle of regular scientific seminars "Sazhin Readings", which have been held annually at the Giredmet Institute since 1970.

The cycle was named in honor of Nikolai Sazhin, a metallurgist, one of the largest specialists in metallurgy of rare metals and pure substances in the USSR. Academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1964). From 1941 to the end of his life, he was the scientific director of GIREDMET, an organization that now bears his name. At the end of 1944, together with a scientific group, he received the first kilograms of pure metal uranium in the USSR. Hero of Socialist Labor (1967). Winner of the Lenin (1961) and two Stalin (1946, 1952) prizes.
