Graduated from the Faculty of Physics and Technology of the Ural State Technical University (now Ural Federal University) in the specialty "Electronics and automation of physical installations" in 2002 and further postgraduate studies in the specialty "Condensed matter Physics" in 2006, Candidate of Physical and mathematical Sciences. He is a specialist in the field of luminescent and optical spectroscopy of rare earth ions and materials based on them, including using synchrotron radiation of the vacuum ultraviolet and X-ray ranges. Author of more than 60 scientific papers related to the study of the processes of creation and relaxation of electronic excitations in oxide and fluoride optical (nano-) materials doped with ions of rare earth and transition metals. From 2007 to 2013, he worked as a researcher abroad (the Netherlands, Germany, France, New Zealand) in
Scholarship and NTNU Scholarship.
